Spruce Goose

The official name of Howard Hugh’s wooden airplane is the Flying Boat, not the Spruce Goose. In fact, it is made out of birch wood. It is 5 stories tall, with a wing span a little longer than a 100 yard football field. This is a partial view of one wing. Notice the airplane parked under the wing for scale.
We had great time at the Evergreen Air Museum today.
