Sally Mair - Loving life

Armourplating!

Fab seats right in the centre of row J in the stalls tonight to see Joan Armatrading. The seats came courtesy of a friend of my sister's, who wasn't able to go. Thank you.
His loss was our gain, the first half was the 10 songs on her new album and the second 10 of her previous tracks some of which were very well known. Her voice is as good as ever, rich tones and an amazing range.
One woman, two guitars a keyboard and a Steinway Grand in front of a black curtain brought the house to its feet in the Usher Hall. Amazing.
Finished with a two song encore of which, predictably the second was Love and Affection.
The extra, which I spotted under the seat behind me, is perhaps an indicator of the age of the majority of her audience! Apparently this is her 46th year as a performer, that's longer than we've been married!
Signs of the times!
