Richmond

Today, on our North Yorkshire holiday, we spent the day in Richmond.

We drove in then walked through to Easby Abbey where we had a wander around (second extra) before returning along the other side of the river.  We had lunch at the old station before walking back into Richmond, across the bridge, and going up the looong staircase to the centre of town.

We then visited the castle, had a cup of tea (complete with coffee whitener - hmm, dusty!) and took the first extra from the top of the tower.

We had pizza and pud in an Italian restaurant in Richmond before driving back to the cottage.  On the way back, we spotted a barn owl on a post in the gloom, and moved the car so we could light it up with our headlights.  It didn't seem bothered, and then it moved across to the other side to the road when we tried to drive closer.  A bonus!
