Front Steps
Today has been sunny and warm although we had our first frost this morning; more to come no doubt.
The bricklayer came this morning and completed the front steps. The section at the front is now angled slightly so that if any water should come down it will be channelled into the French drain. He will give us a quotation to have the steps in the orchard repaired as well as re-making the patio where there was one before the first builders dug it up! He will not be able to start for a while as he has other work, but we have lived with this for so long another few weeks or months will not matter. We are now free of other people in our home until the kitchen fitters install the new boiler and the new kitchen. It will be nice to have the space to ourselves.
Other than that I have completed some reading of Open University work as students are likely to be allocated this week. I have also proofread several documents for my granddaughter as well as catching up on some emails and correspondence. Tomorrow will be similar although no more proofreading for Victoria just yet. It may be that we will go out tomorrow or one day this week as we are no longer tied to the house with workman. No doubt it will be Cambridge or possible Bishop’s Stortford.
Today’s picture is the completed front steps. The old flower tubs have been placed on their new plinths, but will be replaced with the new ones we purchased on Saturday and filled with new plants and some more bulbs.
