Town pet (!)

I was walking over the Soroba Lane bridge in Oban today, crosing the Black Lynn burn, and watching the ducks paddling away below. This is where families stop and feed them and someone has put up a printed notice asking folk not to feed the ducks with bread and listing a lot of alternatives.

I noticed this charming little brown rat nibbling away above the water and had to wait a few times as he scuttled back into the undergrowth if a duck came too close! It was a bit gloomy down there and I've had to fiddle about with the image so it's not as sharp as I would like.
