Today I finally remembered to take my camera to college (was finally brave enough to take a photo without any of the teachers confusing me for someone who definitely shouldn't be taking photos of their kids!) It looks so much more French than the glass monstrosity that is Simone Weil!
The morning was spent, as ever, lesson planning and pretending to do my Warwick essay, not making much progress so far! Before school I went into the boulangerie to get bread and ended up making conversation with the girl behind the counter. I, as usual, spoke about 2 words before she realised that I was English and proceeded to tell me in English that she had lived in Scotland for three years. Excellent. Maybe I'll ask her if she wants to help improve my French sometime, if I'm brave enough.
In the evening, Laura and I had dutifully shut ourselves away in our rooms to do work when we heard a knock at the door. Our newly discovered neighbour, who shall henceforth be known as Delphine, had come over to use our microwave (her flat doesn't have a kitchen) and decided to stay for dinner meaning Laura and I actually ate at the table together, something which very rarely happens! It was nice to practice French and actually manage to muster the courage to say something. Must stop being so shy. Must work on doing small talk!
