After The Rain

...........the sun came out :-)


...............but I doubt it will be enough to ripen this wee fella :-)......time will tell :-)

In other news..........my Bear had his first full-on fight with the cat across the way today..........it's always coming into our garden and the two of them usually just about tolerate each other and it never normally comes very near the house, but I think the other cat's 'people' were away for the weekend and someone (possibly the teenage lad they left behind) wasn't making a very good job of feeding it and I'm guessing it tried to come in for some food because the fight happened just outside the cat flap.
I heard the awful noise and ran to find out, calling hubby as I went and opened the door to see the pair of them in a ball entwined in each other........I had no idea how to stop them so I just shouted at them to stop.........then hubby appeared and bravely stuck his foot in the middle of the yowling ball of fur...........fortunately it worked and the other cat ran off leaving Bear looking bewildered ( I'm pretty sure he's never had a proper fight before).
We took him inside and checked him over as best as he would allow us to and amazingly despite there being loads of fur at the scene we could only find one tiny scratch on his head and no evidence of missing fur, so I can only assume most of the fur came from the other cat.

A bit later when he had calmed down, he was outside again, he decided he wanted to run down the garden and straight through the cat flap ( something he does all the time ) but the cat flap must have got accidentally locked in the kerfuffle and poor Bear ran straight into it and bounced off .........it hasn't been his best day, poor lad :-(

He's been rather subdued this evening, so he's being kept in to recuperate........I am a little concerned for him and I'm just hoping that an overnight rest will see him back to his normal self tomorrow :-)
