SA orienteer friend of Beths' is staying in the Lakes for a few days, so went up Scafell and Scafell Pike so he could tick them off. Approached from Eskdale which was really enjoyable and almost totally devoid of people until arriving at the summit of Scafell Pike - where we were suddenly surrounded by the hordes!
