People’s Walk For Wildlife

Took part in the #PeoplesWalkForWildlife in London today along with at least 10,000 others walking from Hyde Park to Downing Street led by @ChrisGPackham.

An uplifting experience which while highlighting the parlous state of wildlife in the UK focused on working on positive outcomes through dialogue and engagement with all stakeholders.

The only aspect I would have improved on is giving the movement a more human slant. By making things better for wildlife we make it better for ourselves. As has been shown by the current interest in plastics. Only when plastics affected us directly did a significant majority of people become engaged. Hopefully, this March will help to do the same for wildlife in general.

Shamefully neither the BBC or ITV saw fit to mention the march on their news programmes.

You can go to Chris Packham’s website to download and participate in refining the manifesto, www.chrispackham.co.uk and follow the debate on #PeoplesWalkForWildlife.
