Bergerac - Day #6
Yet another scorching day, so we headed towards Beynac in our air conditioned car :)
Beynac is an old medieval village and has the Chateau de Beynac on top of the cliff by the river - looking stunning in the sunshine.
Another day looking for shade meant a lovely walk along the river. We did contemplate doing a bit of canoeing as they take you up the river by minibus and then you can just float back into Beynac with the current and then pick up your car, but it was just so hot that we'd just get sunburnt. But there were plenty of other people doing it - a popular activity indeed.
In the evening there was a bond BBQ which was delicious, followed by a quiz. It's always interesting to join in and this one was not too difficult, but we really made a huge error by playing our joker on the sport round instead of the geography round where we got full marks. It was a really good laugh even though we were halfway down the leader board instead of topping it due to our joker decision.
