Departures
A day of goodbyes.
Sadly, saying a last goodbye to dear Liz, but remembering all the good times, her warmth and kindness to visitors and staff alike at the Osprey Viewpoint and her zeal for life. It seems fitting that No 14 the Lake District Osprey Project's radio tracked bird left his summer home in South Lakes at 08.00 today on the beginning of his 4000 mile trek back to tropical Bioko.
After the funeral Becky and I went to the sailing club and put the boat to bed for the winter - no more sailing until Spring again, but we were both cheered up by this particularly beautiful fungus. Likely to be an Armillaria - one of the honey fungi, this one is growing from the neighbouring pine root.
The Eucalyptus behind - is still a bit out of focus.....
