Jersey Day Four

Day Three of the Jersey Coastal Walk project. JR and Anne walked from St Helier round the south coast and up to Gorey (about 10 miles). I took the bus and met them there (via a croissant, coffee and Kindle session in town). We had lunch (crab sandwiches - yum yum) and then I joined them for a bit more walking to St Catherine's Bay (I did 9,389 steps, 6.6km; JR did 27,755 steps,16.7km). A couple of hilly bits, but very lovely coastal scenery and wee perfect beaches. And a brilliant ice cream shop at the end.

In the evening, we went to our favourite fish and chip beach cafe - Grève de Lecq. It's a gorgeous wee bay, yellow sand, rocky outcrops, with the last of the sun on the cliffs. We had a seat by the window, so could watch all the people with dogs frolicking on the beach. There was even someone in swimming. Epic fish and chips, with the biggest 'small' serving ever.

A couple of 'rest days' coming up - rain is expected over the weekend. But I reckon the walkers have done about 30 miles of the 48 or so round the island.
