Surviving the wind

I wonder if this is an autumn rose, there are more flowers in recent days and after a wet windy night it looked serene this morning.

The day was spent in the kitchen resulting in a couple bottles of plum sauce, bottled pears, plums in the freezer and guess what, plum clafoutie for this evening, it was very good.

The kitten is more adventurous and this morning found a live mouse behind a door in the house, great excitmentment, his first. Wonder which cat brought it in.

Later he experienced his first cat attack when the very shy cat went for him, a full on war cry with the poor boy left sitting in the grass, John had to lift him out. Minutes later he was off again with no obvious scratch marks. The shy cat was brought here from Spain, another one found on the roadside, she didn’t have a good start in life and spends most of the time in the outbuildings. I would like to think she brought the mouse in for the scallywag.
