St Anthony's Chapel

There is surprisingly little known about this archaeological gem in Holyrood Park. In this picture it seems to nestle nicely into the side of Arthur's Seat, but in reality it sits on a rocky outcrop, which is accessible but not exactly inviting on a stormy, winter's day. However, I often imagine what it would have looked in its heyday. Surely it would have stood against the elements and been a beacon to the traveller.

Whatever it means to those who pass it, surely it stands as a wonderful example of Edinburgh's heritage, and demonstrates how lucky us Edinburgers are to have these wonderful green wedges slam bang in the middle of the city.
