Looking for the sun
Having not seen the sun, well hardly any light at all, today we decided to chase the sun westwards for an hour. We tracked the passing over of the front and arrived on the west coast, just as the sun was sinking.
Here is the sunset at Silloth, a holiday resort on the Cumbrian west coast and Gordon's hometown. It's because, when he left at the age of eighteen he swore he would never return, that we don't go very often. However, he obviously knows a lot about the place, so it's somewhere we will return to when I need a blip. No matter what he says!
Sufficient for the moment to say that here we are at the end of the promenade, looking out over the Solway, with the remains of the pier (which he remembers well) the breakwater to protect the harbour entrance and, in the distance, a pilot light for the Solway coast.
The concert yesterday was fantastic. Apologies for the hasty blip. I have added some information for those who were at a bit of a loss as to exactly where I was and what I was doing.
