Oof! Somehow it happens once every trip. You accidentally coincide with a local event. Here it's the Fiesta de San Mateo. Parades, music, firecrackers, Cuenca is one massive street party. Loads of youth in matching sets of T shirts - Cuenca bull run themed. Not really for me but I watched a bit since I was here then left as I felt sorry for the animal.

Old Cuenca is amazing too especially the improbable casas colgadas overhanging the cliffs. My interest sparked by a Spanish text book I've got that features them.
