New Bridge
Like most New Bridges, it's not all that new and it wasn’t designed for modern road traffic. It was built in the early to mid nineteenth century around 1845 and it's only wide enough for one vehicle. As it's a route to the main A30 it takes a lot of traffic so you have to look carefully or someone, probably you, will have to back up.
It's supposed to be haunted and there are stories about a ghostly dwarf. If you see him, it’s worth investigating further as he can apparently lead you to buried treasure.
I preferred to look under the bridge and risk the troll. I liked this little weir with the water rushing through.
It's been a been a bit of a gloomy drizzly day. The sun did come out around lunch time but it was soon covered by cloud again.
