Pretty

Walked around Back Cove today. One tho g about how the light was bouncing off the water like a superball caught my attention. Texturally pretty out there today. Comorants everywhere, dipping and diving and perched on rocks drying their wings. A perfect 3.5 miler.

There's a youngish, handsome-ish homeless guy who tends to spend his days in one spot along this path. His name is Alex, I learned today when I stopped to talk with him. He was sitting in the sun reading today's Portland Press Herald. All his belongings in a small sack next to him. I've heard he's out on the streets by choice. He seemed very smart, if a little haunted by a conspiratorial government. I left wondering just what kind of life is "normal." The guy says he's happy doing his Tai Chi in 14 warm layers near his personal park bench. And I believe him.
