Much better carbonara
Big recovery lie-in, much needed, and a very lazy day spent lesson planning and watching The Adjustment Bureau and then writing a film review of it for Marmaduke who had recommended it. I will paste it here too.
FILM REVIEW - The Adjustment Bureau
I just finished it. Here are my intellectual and groundbreaking observations or points or questions.
- Who is the chairman? Who?
- Matt Damon looks young in this film! Like, not much older than Bourne! But it was only released last year? Not long before that ridiculous-sounding 'We Bought A Zoo' (or something) film where he looked about 60? Ok.
- Hello Matt Damon have you ever heard of facebook. Elise is not THAT common a name and you know what town she lives in and you know what she looks like, I'm sure you could spend some time stalking and probably track her down. Silly goon.
- At first Emily Blunt was actually okay and not that annoying, like the bit at the beginning where he met her in the men's bathroom and they were having some banter and I thought to myself 'you know what Emily Blunt, you're alright, you seem like you might be quite a nice person in real life' but then the film carried on and I realised that no, actually, you're quite annoying aren't you.
- I'm sure you two don't know each other well enough to be risking your lives etc. I think you have only met Emily Blunt about three times in this film, Matt Damon. In fact I probably know her better than you, because I saw a bit where she was dancing by herself and you were not there, so I have actually met her more times than you. And I will tell you that she's annoying so you should not risk your life for her.
- But also why did you leave her (even though she is annoying) when that man told you she would be a teacher and not a famous dancer if you stayed. Because I think she would prefer to be a teacher. Maybe you should have asked if she prefers teachers or famous people and there you would have it.
- Things I disliked about this film: it kept doing that thing where it freezes and jumps a lot, with the sound not being dubbed in time, despite me not pausing or minimising or touching it at all. I can only assume this was Emily Blunt's doing.
But actually I really liked it. I concur with imdb's rating of 7.1, I think that's fair.
