Where's the bread?

This pair hung about for a while before it became obvious to them that I had no bread. They had four cygnets earlier this year, but there were none on the pond today. I've seen cygnets being chased off by the male swan in early spring - I guess they need to be away before the adult swans start nesting - but I think the cygnets have always stayed with their parents until then so I just hope they have moved on somewhere else already..
