Time for Tolkien

What weather! This morning was delightful but extremely gusty, and I spent it reading - from the beginning - this massive book on the life and work of JRR. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings factored strongly in my youth, long before the films, and Tom Bombadil was if anything an aspiration and a challenge.

This afternoon the weather closed in, the rain came down, and the village forum on Facebook erupted in yet another of its now regular text based boils. I really do put this all down to Brexit; it has divided our country, our friends and families, and has made everyone tense and intolerant. Fly, you fools.
