Onward and upward

Started a new German course today.
The course book starts with talking about holidays, it was quite humbling to have the lady next to me talk about the last trip she made. It took a week and included boat, train, car (or maybe it was a bus?) and foot - as she left her homeland of Afghanistan for Germany.
