Not a Day too Long
Despite having celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary several weeks ago at Gleneagles, today was actually the big day.
It has turned out to be rather understated because of storm Ali amongst other things. Although we had once planned to let our hair down with champagne at Harvey Nick’s as we did last year, we have modified the celebrations to do battle with the storm and venture no further than the local café.
This photo of our wedding day at the old castle has probably graced these pages more than once- 10 anniversaries on Blipfoto will surely have seen it before, but the good thing for a lady of advancing years is, I can’t remember, and hopefully you won’t either.
In between making two more banana cakes to cater for the banana mountain in the Dower House and another pan of soup because the soup of two days ago was pronounced too spicy for His Lordship, he and I have spent a morning looking through our wedding photos which still have to be stuck permanently into their photograph album.
There were so many memories of the day, but none of the actual ceremony and what vows we undertook as we pledged our troth; there certainly was no obeying promised by either of us but the ‘in sickness and health‘ vow was a given, luckily.
It’s been a wonderful 20years (+ 3 as a ‘bidey in’) for both of us and we remember that for whatever lies ahead.
