Light Through the Tall Trees.....
Today is Women’s Suffrage Day. It is 125 Years since women got the vote here in New Zealand. That is something we can be proud of although there is still much work to be done as we slowly move towards equality. I am very proud to say I was one of the 500 women, nation-wide, to be awarded the The New Zealand Suffrage Centennial Medal back in 1993. Coincidentally the Medal was awarded on the 18th of September.... a very special birthday present for me that year. Onwards and upwards.....
It is now so light in the mornings. I love seeing the early sunlight in this case through the trees alongside the tracks Maisie and I walked this morning. Daylight saving starts at the end of this month. I won’t mind the darker mornings at all as we will then have lovely long light-filled evenings... great for gardening at the end of the day.
