Old Observatory House

Coming downstairs in a hurry in St Andrews House late this afternoon , on my way to Waverley to catch a train for Stirling, I noticed as I passed this view - from a high window - of Old Observatory House on Calton Hill.

This type of unexpected angle of something not much thought about always fascinates me.

In fact it was such a striking and memorable image that some steps further on I stopped and walked back up to make sure I got it.
