Still Going Strong
Not sure if it is the flower or my father that is this refers to. Adam and I took a set of photos to my mother for my dad's room in the care home. Last time I saw him he was unsteady on his feet and he didn't seem to know who I was. Today he seemed much steadier and could even remember everything in the photos including 5 ships he served on over 50 years ago. What changed? The only obvious thing is he had some antibiotics to treat an infection; all very odd.
Still very tough on my mother as he always says to her he wants to go home but here is no way she could cope with him.
I had said to Jane my desperation blip would be my oldest vinyl. I have two by Wally Whyton - 50 All Time Children's Favourite (I don't think I bought them). It was a horrid drive home and still raining persistently and I must admit I looked at the record collection and thought today could be the day. Put on some Supertramp and had a think. I saw out the window a flash of orange and when I looked closer saw this poppy had been blown over. Got it inside and hey presto no need for old vinyl (well at least not today). Still has the raindrops on it!.
