Happy Birthday, Dana!
I'm flooded with memories as I dig through the shoe boxes full of faded photos looking for a particular one. The chances aren't good that I will find it, but I'm enjoying the glimpses back. Long gone pets, vacations, weddings, birthday parties and Christmases. Backpacking trips, children and grandchildren.
Finally I find the picture I'm looking for...a picture of Dana as a toddler proffering a very wilted dandelion. The little snapshot lived on our kitchen bulletin board for so many years that it is faded and blurry but it still captures a happy time. I still remember the little jumper I made for her...printed with perkier versions of the bloom clutched in her fist.
It seems like a long time ago when OilMan and I walked down to the hospital because there was a football game in town and traffic was at a standstill. You were cooperatively born during the Cal-UCLA game. Now your own children are off to college and my wish for you is that you continue to reap the same rewards and joys of raising and launching a family as we have. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
