Yellow Thorn - Silver Meadows

Around Easter you can buy tiny flossy yellow chickens to put with the sugar eggs.
If you want something similar in September you go and find Peter and his moth trap and see if he has captured any Yellow Thorns. On an overcast morning they glow like spots of flame, miniature canaries with slightly singed looking wings vibrating to fire themselves up enough to fly.
This one is sitting on the Viking hut at Dubwath Silver Meadows, alongside the alders  and birches that would have been its food as a caterpillar.
