West Bay Entry
This solo sailor made very swift way towards the entrance to the harbour (some of it quite new) at West Bay, near Bridport. I then thought that he was going to continue past the entrance as he wasn't turning inbound, but he made the turn at the last minute and ran before the wind into the harbour.
I then realised that he had had to navigate around the marker pole and avoid spending too much time across the rising swell and risk capsize. Anyway, once inside the harbour mouth (see Extra) he ran into the temporary bays, performed the sailing equivalent of a stem christie to bring himself into wind and stationary close enough to the mooring point to tie up and take down his sails. All very efficient!
