Rough Day

We had the monsters today (school holidays yet again).
Right from the go The Cygnet was acting up.
Our intention was to take them to the Museum Of Rural Life.
However, there was a meltdown of biblical proportions from The Cygnet and he got hauled out of the car by his mother…. twice!

So we left without The Cygnet but with SWMBO who was in tears over the situation.
Things in the car were much more relaxed by the time we had arrived at the museum and phone calls revealed that The Cygnet had calmed down.
Squirrel was really looking forward to going round the place (she was too young to remember her last visit).
We started with a tractor/trailer ride up to the farm buildings. I think she would have taken one of the piglets home if she could (I would have preferred one of the parents ….. much more eating in them).
The farmhouse hasn't changed  in goodness only knows how many years and there was loads of elements that reminded me of my Grandmothers' houses.
I think the highlight for Squirrel though was milking the cow. Without instructions she sat down and immediately got the action right and was as proud as Punch that she was getting good results. She even declared that she would like to try milking a real cow.
Before going to the café for lunch we had a look inside the bothy which was home to a couple of German P.O.W.'s during the second world war.
Squirrel also spent some of her birthday money on a bug magnifying system which she was using on everything except bugs.
Before we got back into the car to head home she insisted in having a look at 'the igloo' where she did her posing bit and took quite a nice shot of SWMBO and I.

When we got home The Cygnet seemed fine - but started trying to push buttons when we were playing Trivial Pursuit.

I am not looking forward to tomorrow.
