Guardian of the blackberry

This lovely lady has made her web in front of my favourite brambling site.

I'm normally not keen on spiders but the araneus diademus or diadem spider (because of the cross on her abdomen) is rather beautiful.

I got up close and very personal with her, managing not to damage her home.
