My A level biology lessons are a dim memory now but for some reason I always remember the reproduction of the fern. Those sporangia arranged within the sori on the underneath of the leaves and all protected by the indium cover. They captured my imagination then, no seeds or flowers. I'm still amazed by them and always love seeing them uncurl in the spring and die away in glorious autumn colours.

This one is from my garden when a spot of tidying up lasted just a few minutes before pain shot through my back. Its still sore and Im hoping it goes as quickly as it came because I need to be mobile next week.
