Through the Arches

Today we visited a small town called Nocera Umbra. The town was badly damaged in the large earthquake which hit this region in 1985. The town was rebuilt using reinforcing materials to withstand future earthquakes but the buildings are still in the Umbrian style. I liked these arches which are part of the town walls. Later we paid a second visit to Assisi and had more time to take in the ambience. Once again the temperatures were in the mid 30s degC and it was much busier than earlier in the week.
