Day 4 Springfield Illinois to StLouis Missouri

Started the day early as we were hoping to get to St Louis early so we could go to Six Flags theme park.

Got on Route 66 and found the auburn road (pictured) an original brick laid section of the route from the 30s. Very cool and in the middle of nowhere. We were quite excited to have to stop at some rail road tracks to wait for a massive train to go through. Not sure why we were excited but it just seemed very American!

Next stop, a Route 66 legend - Henry’s rabbit ranch. It’s basically a man who keeps rabbits (rescued ones) and has all kinds of Route 66 related things in his little shop. Really nice guy to meet and chat to. He stamped and signed our EZ guide.

Next we hopped on the interstate to get across St Louis to six flags and spent the rest of the day riding rollercoasters yay!
Afterwards drove back into St Louis to find our hotel. Massively excited to find that there was free popcorn and soft drinks all day and then free beer and wine from 5.30 to 7!!! We can also see the gateway arch from the hotel which is nice

After having our freebies we walked a few blocks to a microbrewery and had ourselves a few beers before bed!
