On the road

We took Dot.T at dawn
to catch a train
She went to see a uni
Where as a lawyer, she might train.
We took NoaNoa to school
For a school football game
Then Elbows to church,
A First Aid Course to obtain.
Then NoaNoa to Edmonton
A party of go-karting
For me, a pile of ironing
That just needed starting.
A sister popping in
Treasure Hunters to prepare
Baskets of washing
And a busy shop to bear.
Elbows attention
Turns to the bike repair flop
And as the sun goes down
We’re all ready to drop.
But Dot.T needs collecting
From a party far away
At midnight Elbows sets off
for the last time today.
And since Elbows has
a plane at Gatwick to catch
We’ll be awake again at five
A little sleep we’ll catch.

I list the main things
That punctuate the day
But there’s so much more
That’s too dull to say.
But some days will seem
Very still and very tame
So there’s no complaint
Whilst we’re still in the game.
