Male woodpecker
I was going to collect a repeat prescription from the local pharmacy, but by the time I got to the bottom of my drive I decided I wasn't up to it - fortunately when I phoned the kindly agreed to deliver it. Not surprisingly, therefore, I haven't been out today, apart from putting the Naturewatch camera on a tripod in the garden. Happily the woodpeckers obliged, and I have photos of at least 3 different ones - female, juvenile and male. Although the camera was less than a metre from the feeder, it's quite low res, and of course I can't alter the position, so the quality if the photos is not as good as I would get with a 'proper' camera with a long lens in the house, but it detects movement, and takes photos accordingly, so I don't have to sit watching for hours. Unfortunately the movement trigger detects the leaves blowing about, so I ended up with over 1600 photos to work through, many of which don't have any birds in them at all.
