An afternoon of rugby
We went out for a delicious brunch this morning - I had something called a Ranchero, which was poached eggs with roasted peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, chorizo, and smashed avocado - it was yummy! I was so full that I could not eat lunch and was still full by the time we went to rugby this afternoon.
Today Thomas played in a triangular tournament, and luckily they won against both teams. Within minutes of the first game starting the ambulance was called as someone got injured, and there were a further 3 injuries from his match. One of his team mates was badly concussed and another from the opposition team had some injury that he could not be moved off the pitch until a stretcher could take him, so the teams had to move to another pitch to continue their game. Not good to have so many injuries so early in the season. Luckily there are ambulances parked at the pitches and they are treated immediately.
One of the dads at the match asked me to take some photos of his son and this is one of them. I have added an extra of Thomas - think this was after he had taken a tackle. I noticed two players were bleeding in this photo - gosh it is a rough sport!
Soon after we got home Adam arrived from the airport after his week of ski training. He has had a very good week training and was working on a new advanced technique taught to him by their coach.
Tonight Thomas has gone to an 18th birthday party and how convenient, it is the party of our neighbour's twin sons - being next door means no need for a taxi/Uber home, you could not get a more convenient arrangement than that!
