Arnold Sunset
Just when I think we might have seen every possible variation of a sunset photo, then this one shows up. God is infinite in His handiwork, and shows it often in nature. This is across the Valley from our home in Arnold, Ca, and looks across an expanse of forrest - in the daylight you can see a lot of dead trees from where the bark beetles got to them, but at night only a great vista.
There is seemingly no end to the logging trucks moving up and down highway 4 taking out the logs from trees damaged by the beetle. The best cure for it is to have trees that are not weekend by drought, so we remain hopeful that this year will be another of extensive rain and snowfall. It is all about snowpack in the mountains, and 40 minutes up the road east from us is Ebbetts Pass, and the elevation reaches 8700 feet - so with a good winter the snow can remain, and the roads remain impassible until early July.
I also stayed around and took one more star shot, and posted it in extras - used a different camera and lens this time, and think it is improved over the previous one I posted.
