Today's the day …………………… to re-unite

This is my good friend Peter - that you may know from blipfoto as BKeeper.

He arrived here this evening from his home on the Isle of Man and tomorrow, he will drive me to Sowerby Bridge where we will join the good ship 'Cornwall' .  We will  then spend the next week cruising the Rochdale Canal in the direction of Manchester in the company of three other good friends who were all fellow students at Hull University back in the mists of time.

We actually didn't think that we would be able to be on the Rochdale Canal because of the very dry weather.  It was closed off to narrowboat traffic in the middle of the summer because there was not enough water to fill the locks.  But just recently, because of increased rainfall, it has been opened up again.  We are delighted about that - and it will be the first time that we've all been there.

I'm not sure if I will be able to post a daily blip as we go - but it will all appear eventually.  And it would be lovely to have your company along too …………………...
