Century

Margaret and I took ourselves off to Old Warden for the first day of the Bedford Steam and Country Show which is held in the park that is part of The Shuttleworth Trust, so very familiar surrounds although we haven't been to this particular event before.

We had a fantastic day!

Many many photos taken and I choose this one as a 'defining image' of the event. 'Century' was built in 1877 by G Burrell and Sons Thetford, Norfolk at the St Nicholas Works. She has the build number 748. This venerable old lady is the oldest Burrell road locomotive still in steam and running. An amazing machine to see, hear and smell!
