1827 land dispute

Spending a lot of time poring over maps of Kirkwall at the moment. This is a section of one that shows a plan of property which was the subject of a legal dispute in 1827. I’ve no idea what they were arguing about but I wish more people in Kirkwall had done the same thing, then I would be able to see the other end of the street.

My favourite map/plan so far is of the drains that were put in to take the Papdale burn underground. It’s a work of art. I don’t have a pic if it but if you happen to be in Kirkwall and have an interest in Victorian drains and sewage I recommend popping in to the Library & Archive and asking to have a look at it.
