A Walk Through Deb's Life

American Midwest Town

It was a lovely weekend really. The weather warmed up and today we went to a local Home Show that was held in St. Charles, Illinois. There were thousands of homeowners in attendance with more than 300 vendors. One might be surprised by the turnout considering the bleak economic times we are in. But there seemed to be no slow-down of people seeking information on air conditioning, kitchen renovation, water filtration, outdoor water features, Sham Wow, and garden mulch. Every isle was crowded and required "Excuse me's" to get through. Most of the vendors were too busy talking to prospects to even look our way, which I must say, is better than them acting like vulchers as we stroll through the exhibits. I think it might have been the good weather that brought people out of their 'cabin fever' mode to check out the show.

The weather today did turn cloudy compared to yesterday's sunshine. I wore my spring coat (not my full-length-down - hurray) and on the way home I snapped this shot of downtown St. Charles. It's the epitomy of an American midwest town. We didn't notice until looking at the photos later how many American flags are flying here. Oh, and I just couldn't leave off the winter sale window shot, so I included it too. So happy that there are winter sales - the hope of spring around the corner. We also noticed much road kill (skunks, deer, raccoons) on our outing - another sign of warm weather awakenings.
