Learned Behavior

We are delighted that the pileated woodpeckers are regular visitors again, even though they eat a lot! The high feeder was empty today, so this female hung upside down on the low feeder and tucked in. It's not how they feed in the wild, and C and I don't remember seeing them do it before.
