The Edge of the Wold

Four posts

This was the photograph that I might have used for the 730 which fell on Saturday 17th, if I hadn't been so sneaky as to hold a backblip for the occasion. But as I said last night (18th), this was a bit too Gladders to post on a blip day, it had to be something a bit different.

This is close to Jenny Brown's Point, the enigmatic four posts in the foreground, the expanse of Morecambe Bay beyond, rapidly emptying after a 10 metre tide. The sun was just about to drop out of the cloud. Curlews were bubbling, and oystercatchers piping as they moved from their high tide roosts. And Chris, whom I was with, was anxious that Wifie and Sue would have been shown the door of Wolfhouse Gallery at 4 pm and would be standing in the cold waiting our return. He needn't have worried, they were still in the tearoom, enjoying a second cappuccino and debating whether Sue should buy an Angela Harding print for her study. Closing time is 5pm.

In the evening we went to 17 in Milnthorpe for a fine meal to celebrate my big blipday. Well, no, actually we just had a lovely meal out. A good day.

And if I haven't said thank you to anyone who commented on the 30 September blip, I will eventually, I promise.

Sorry about the chronological confusion.
