Words, Women & War.....

.... these aren't my words but the title of a one woman play performed this evening at the Saltaire Festival. The play tells the story of four Yorkshire women whose names no-one would recognise, and who gave brave service in one way or another during the First World War.  Irene Lofthouse researched, wrote and performed the play which I found very interesting -  and she did it well.

I took the photos for the festival but it was challenging as far as light went as it was a flash free zone;  I hope when I've gone through the images there'll be something they want to use.
