There’s this game to play where A N other (John) hurls the tyre down the bank and this boy races to catch it, and, in theory brings it back up. However we wait in vain although later on spot the tyre at the top ready to start again. Occasionally we have seen it, the tyre, at the front of the house but can’t imagine why or what we should do with it, no doubt clever dog will let us know, we are a bit slow that way.

He’s very good to take on a walk, obedient and obviously enjoys the smells along the tracks, occasionally a cat or two will join us, all feels good with the days slipping by, lots going on in a slow, gentle way. A few evenings ago dog and I walked down into the fields beyond the view of the house and came across the two donkeys, we all had a chat, they wandered off and we came back to shut the chickens in. Minutes later the thundering of hooves could be heard along the track and here come the donkeys at a gallop, we have never seen them move like this, quite a sight. We don’t have to shut them in and can’t make out their five minutes of madness, possibly the thought of a carrot?
