We had the most amazing lightning show after dark, but this was as the sun was setting, lighting up the clouds in the east bay.  The lightning went on for about an hour and then the rain, but WOW, it was great fun to watch.  We were all outside on the (covered) back porch, glued to our seats, ooooing and aaahhhing like we were watching fireworks!
