Summers over

Was this hat discarded now that summer is nearly over or was it a treasured possession that tumbled over the edge? I'll never know but it's been there for a few weeks. No doubt I will watch it slowly deteriorate over the next few months as the elements further attack it. A sad reminder of the summer we had.
