Dipped in and out of the cricket today

A Dipper in our local park. Isn't wonderful that we can see this birds so easily.  There are Kingfishers as well but they are not as easy to spot.

I also got good views of Grey Heron and Grey Wagtail all in 30 minutes of sunshine.

I have enjoyed watching the Test Match Cricket over recent weeks and its been good to see Cook finish off his Test Career with a success today.

Jimmy Anderson took the last wicket  and he is now the 4th highest wicket taker in Test cricket quite and achivement for a fast bowler ( all those ahead of him are (slow) spin bowlers).  Let's hope he has  apologised to Umpire Dharmasena after trying to tell him how to do his job.  Let's leave abuse of officials to Tennis and Football players.

During the series of matches I have grown to admire many of the India team not least that so many are able to play with obvious enjoyment even through tough times. The Captain Virat Kholi is a true star of the game.  They seemed to have more than their fair share of batting in poor conditions in earlier games and 4-1 to England is poor reward for their efforts.

Note: I logged out of Facebook yesterday thinking of giving it a miss for a while
