Cake for tea

I do not bake cakes very often. I make a decent lemon drizzle and a good crumble but that's about my culinary expertise in baking.

Today I stayed at home and did numerous chores
The sun was shining and it was tee shirts and shorts weather once more. I decided to make a cake.

The hens are laying well and I collect more eggs every day than I either need or can sell. There was some dried fruit, almonds, walnuts and glace cherries in the cupboard, so I used them to make a fruit cake of sorts. It looks good and smells delicious. Ian always says he doesn't eat cake until he sees me eating some when we are out. So it looks as though i shall have to consume it myself.
